There’s a StarMan…

January 1st, 2019, I am at my Barns & Nobel.  A tarot deck catches my eye because, hey, isn’t that David Bowie?

It was the Starman Tarot by Davide De Angelis.  De Angelis was an artist who had worked with Bowie and was inspired to make a tarot deck based on that art and of Bowie himself.

I got the deck for my girlfriend Nicole, the one who dreamed about Bowie before she knew who he was and the person who got me into Bowie.  She loved it.

I got this deck for myself and, this deck.  Just reading the guidebook, it has been a trip.  It has made me rethink some of the cards.  Plus, the artwork is trippy as fuck.

Now, January 8th is Bowie’s birthday and the 10th is the anniversary of when he left this mortal coil.  I have coined these three days Days of Bowie, a celebration of the lives and times of all things Bowie.

This January, the Starman Tarot is my deck of the month.  With @owlandbonestarot interview spread, let’s see what these cards have in store for me.

Where does your wisdom lie?  Reversed Ace of Wands.  Off-track, you say?  I know with some of your meanings, they seem off the beaten path, but how off-track will you be?

What is your inner strength?  Reversed King of Pentacles.  Oh, dreamy deck!  I hope this is the deck that breaks out of the ground and is an acid trip of a deck.

What might you not see?  Prince of Cups.  Not a deck for feels.  Acid trips with no feelings.  I wonder how that will play out.

What makes you soar?  Reversed 8 of Pentacles.  You are not going to give me straight answers.  That tracks if you are an acid trip of a deck.

Where do you feel grounded?  Princess of Cups.  Not a deck for feels but you will make me explore one’s feels.  This all ties in with the acid trip you are, right?

Where will you dig in?  Reversed the Chariot.  Again, it feels like this deck just keeps yelling acid trip at me, no matter which card I flip over.

Who are you at your bare bones?  Reversed Lovers.  A mess.  This deck is a mess and may not be for clear readings.

Overall, I get the Hermit, but it’s called the Alien in this deck.  And for added fun, each card has a type of affirmation.  For the Alien, it’s “I bring back knowledge from distant places.”  And I am ready for a deck with that kind of energy.
